On March 18, the Southern Chester County Chamber of Commerce gave its Outstanding Citizens award for 2022. This year, the recipient is Luis Tovar. One might ask, what merits this award? After reviewing the number of candidates who have been nominated, the choice comes down to a person who excels in the following qualities: He/she has a vision for southern Chester County; takes active leadership; volunteers; invests in community service; and demonstrates citizenship that positively influences the welfare of the broader community.
The Southern Chester County Chamber of Commerce kicked off the year with clear and actionable goals, at its Annual Meeting, during which the 2023 Board of Directors was introduced. Speakers included Tim Moore, Immediate Past Chairman who shared strategic accomplishments and initiatives, Doug Doerfler, 2023 Chairman shared his vision and objectives, and President & CEO, Cheryl Kuhn recognized outstanding service of Members. More than 75 members and guests attended the event held on January 19th, at Hartefeld National Golf Club.

While selecting the Outstanding Citizen, a certain weight of significance for three key members who had passed during the year, and one who had passed during the latter part of 2019, made it clear that the honor would be posthumously.
